BLT Dip with Sausage
The holidays are here! The holidays are here! I am already getting invitations to parties and events and I could not be more excited. The pomp, the circumstance, the feeling in the air of jubilation. It all comes about this time of year. It also inspires me to bring out the holiday recipes I love. If you have never had BLT Dip, you are missing out! It is creamy, delicious and so flavorful! However, I love to take a classic like this dip and add some flair to it. I got the idea to replace the bacon in this dip with delicious and flavorful Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Sausage. The sausage adds a unique savory blend of Jimmy Dean signature seasonings with their fresh, high-quality pork sausage. I LOVE it in this dip and so does anyone who tries it!
Now you may ask, why mess with a classic? BLT Dip is good the way it is. And you would be right. But when I get inspired by the tinsel and merry bells, I also get inspired to flavor recipes up! As you know from following this blog for years, I love Tyson® products. They are the key ingredient to recipes and recipe hacks that can be enjoyed any time of day during the busy holiday season.
Because of that, I can always count on simple switch outs, like regular bacon for Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Sausage, to enhance the flavor of the dishes I already love!
Now that you are salivating, let’s talk recipe!
- 1lb Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Sausage (in the refrigerator aisle at HEB)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 chopped plum tomatoes
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped chives
- salt and pepper to season
- romaine hearts.
- Make the sausage, making sure that the end product is crumbles. Let cool on a paper towel while you put together the rest of the dip.
- Mix together all of the ingredients, folding in the sausage at the end.
- Chill at least an hour and serve on fresh romaine hearts!
Next time you are walking around your local HEB store, stock up on Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Sausage to spruce up your holiday meals. Adding a little flavor may just make that classic sing in a way you never thought of before!
