If there ever was a pivotal movie in my lifetime, it was Beaches. Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey teach us about the power of friendship, the resolve of love and the determination to have our final wishes met.
Remembering the movie makes me almost melancholy for the story telling of yesterday. The drama of this movie was in the story. As a struggling entertainer involves herself in the cynical world of trying to make it, her friend – a rich debutante – finds out she is sick. As they struggle to take care of each other they each learn that friendship withstands time if you just let it.
Do you remember this movie? I first saw it in theaters so many years ago. But with the DVD, you get amazing bonus features that make this a gem for any movie collection. My sister and I used to watch this all the time when we were younger!! I love this movie!
I will be honest and say I never saw it, so I don’t have a favorite moment per se, but I would love to see it as I really like Bette Midler.

I love boardwalk scene, right as they are walking on the beach, not long after they met!! Love it!!!
I saw this movie when I was younger but don’t really remember too much of it. I am going to have to for sure watch it again because these movies are the kind I really enjoy.
