I am a very bust mom. I have work, the kids, the PTO – where somehow I am the homeroom parent coordinator this year – and life to take care of. It is a never ending tornado of picking up, cooking meals, wiping mouths, giving baths, and — well, you understand!
And one thing that falls by the wayside when I am busy taking care of others is remembering to eat… and remembering to eat WELL!
I need something fast, delicious and easy to take when I am on the go! I am so tired of having to grab something unhealthy just because I am always in a huge hurry to do whatever it is I find the need to do!
Then other day I was going to be out at the preschool around lunch time. Since I know that I am supposed to be eating regularly and taking care of myself, I needed something I could pop in my bag and heat up quickly to eat. I opened my cabinet and the answer stood in front of me!
NEW Barilla Pasta Microwavable Meals! I have been DYING to try these anyway! Available in 5 delicious flavors from Mezze Penne with Tomato & Basil Sauce to the uber yummy, Whole Grain Fusilli with Vegetable Marinara Sauce, these are easy and fast meals that can satisfy my hunger needs in minutes!
And, they are pretty darn healthy compared to the other microwave alternatives I have out there!
Each 9 oz. package contains 1 serving of pasta and sauce and:
- 100% Natural Ingredients
- No preservatives
- Relatively low calories (only 320 calories per meal)
- Two whole grain options
See, not too bad, right? Especially when I can flip the package over and actually read the ingredients in the meal without a dictionary!
I love the firm but flavorful pasta, the plump and juicy tomatoes, the ‘I am SO cheating on my diet’, delicious sauce and the complete ease in preparing and eating these meals!
As for prep – all you need is a microwave, 60 seconds and a fork! The packaging is cleverly deigned to heat the sauce separately from the pasta keeping the “mushy” product woes at bay!
I really like these meals and am glad that I have the healthier alternatives to choose from come my busy, on the go, lunch times! In addition, my kids – who have taken a huge interest in being healthy – ask a lot of questions and it had helped me serve more whole grains to them as well! Mom eats it, the kids eat it! That is how it works in my home anyway!
Check your grocers shelves for Barilla Microwavable Meals and make your lunch time, on the go time and anytime easy and healthier!
