When my oldest daughter was born, she had no hair. None. Not a single strand. My middle daughter was born with a little brown puff on the top of her head and then my youngest came out with hair everywhere. As they have grown, they have all gotten my light brown hair. The oldest has thin, straight hair, the middle has thicker, wavy hair and the youngest has my curls. I remember making a huge deal out of  the fact that I really did not want to be too tender with their heads as babies because I did not want to have children with sensitive heads. Well, it backfired -shocking, right? – and now I have two with such sensitive heads that a brush hurts them to tears! So I welcome, with open arms, Wet Brush!

The Wet Brush

My oldest, especially, can cry just from a brush stroke. We do the ‘hold your breath’ game when we do her hair and, if there is no need to do anything but brush it, we can make it through. But if she wants a braid or pony tail, I have to be prepared – and so does she – for the crocodile tears that always accompany styling. For years, I have used baby brushes on her to try to tame those tears. But if a tangle ensues… forget about it.

The Wet Brush

The worse I have with her – and to a lesser degree, my youngest – is the hair right out of the bath or shower. A tangled mess from shampooing and conditioning, getting her to let me brush her hair, much less style it, is impossible. But The Wet Brush has advanced us to almost no tangle tears at all and it is a truly amazing thing!

Just listed to my middle daughter talk about The Wet Brush!

I don’t know how they do it. Brushes that have metal spikes, as I call them, were banned in 2007 after an especially traumatic brushing episode for an event we were taking my oldest to. But The Wet Brush seems to have magically created a brush that actually gets through tangles easily-  wet OR dry – and my kids tell me that the spikes don’t hurt at all! In fact, I was shocked when I used my The Wet Brush because it went straight through my wet hair with no issue at all!

The Wet Brush

Available in 18 fun colors and designs – something for the whole family – and in children’s sizes for little hands, adult sizes and even pop out travel sizes, The Wet Brush is perfect for the whole family. The soft handle is comfortable to hold, the spread out bristles make them easy to clean and, the most important part?, the tangle tears have subsided dramatically since we got these in our home!
