I am terrible at decorating my home. I am. I feel like it is a hodgepodge of stuff thrown in to be functional. I have tried over the years to find my ‘style’, but like everything else about me, that seems to change anytime my mood does. So these days I am more interested in adding character to my home. Conversation pieces, if you will. I have discovered antique stores and have now been introduced to a site that is definitely FULL of conversation pieces! Uncommon Goods is whimsical, fun, unique and has things I would never have even dreamed up in a million years. It was truly impossible to find a few things I wanted for my home because there are so many things to choose from!

Whether you are looking for a Mix Tape Door Mat or a Fire Escape Bookshelf, Uncommon Goods will foster your imagination as you make your home, garden, dorm room or kitchen your own! You can even add conversation pieces to your wardrobe with the jewelry collections. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, UncommonGoods is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people. There are some really great areas of the site that I really got hooked on. Like the Uncommon Collection which was introduced in 2015. It is an exclusive assortment of products that meet the highest standards for uncommon design, sustainability, and doing good. Seriously, this whole company just fascinates me!

I finally did settle on some really great pieces and then marked about 50 more that I want! Like pretty much anything from the lighting section… how fun are these? But I did get the super functions and totally cool Convertible Bucket Stool and then a Personalized Family Print celebrating our awesome girls household! Both items are beautiful, well made and definite conversation pieces in my house!

I love my framed print from Uncommon Goods! ad

The Convertible Bucket Stool sits next to my reading chair and provides the perfect place for me to set my snacks. It also is the perfect height for a stool so if the kids want to sit and talk with me, we just flip the lid and they have a padded cushion to sit on. In addition, the bucket in its whimsical pail style, holds my blanket that I use to cover up when I have a chill. It is my favorite new piece of functional art in my house!

My family print is super cute too! Celebrating my single mom household with three daughters and three dogs in tow, the girls love to look at it and show their friends! The cartoon characters add color and fun and the piece comes framed and ready for the wall!

On another note, I love this company because it gives back to the community as well! As an independently-owned business, they have the freedom to support causes they believe in and to impact the world in a positive way. With every purchase we make, they proud to donate $1 to the non-profit of our choice. Since they started the Better to Give program 12 years ago, Uncommon Goods has donated over $1 Million to charities around the world! As a consumer, I LOVE that!
