When I was a little girl I loved many things. Holly Hobby, Little House on the Prairie and the super adorable, always hysterical Smurfs! I adored Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Brainy and, of course, Clumsy Smurf. Ask my mom, I most closely relate to Clumsy. I loved to watch as they outsmarted Gargamel and won out over evil week after week! I think I had every Smurf toy, house and any other product known to man! So knowing I can pass my childhood friends onto my kids is a huge kick for me! To celebrate the release of Smurfs 2 on DVD at Walmart, I paired movie night with one of my favorite brands and their Tyson Honey Battered Breast Tenders. Add some Smurf dip and Smurfy Sugar Cookies and we were off to Smurf Village!
You guys know me and you know that if I am going to do a movie night, a get together or any other event at my house, Tyson will most likely be involved. I just love their products. The variety, the quality and the consistent drive to make them better at all times makes this a name in my house that my kids know well. We get the Tyson Chicken Nuggets weekly and then add some other snacks to the cart as well.
With the release of Smurfs 2 and my plan to have a Smurfy night with my kids, I wanted something I had not tried before. I walked up and down the aisles at Walmart and found the Tyson Honey Battered Breast Tenders. They just sounded so good so in the cart they went!
My next stop was to get blue food coloring. I had some Smurfy ideas on my mind and I needed blue to make them work!
Later that night I pulled out our Smurfs collection. We have stuffed Smurfs (Clumsy is “our fave mom!”), our collection of movies including the original, the Christmas Carol and Smurfs 2. And while I cooked, I let the kids play the Smurfs 2 video game.
While they gathered blueberries and laughed at the antics, I put the Tyson Honey Battered Breast Tenders in the oven and got to work on blue Smurfy Sugar Cookies and Smurf Dip. If you want the recipe for either, here you go. Add blue food coloring to Ranch dressing and to the sugar cookie batter and icing. That’s it! So simple!
Once the delicious, juicy, flavorful, fun to eat tenders were done, I added some veggies and fruit and we had a Smurftastic snack plate to munch on all night long! When I added the blue cookies with blue icing that were sprinkled with Smurf magic dust, my kids were over the moon on a Blue Movie Night!
A lot of kids are getting out of school for the holidays! It is a perfect time to gather them round, watch the fantastically hysterical Smurfs 2 and snack on some delicious Tyson Honey – or Original – Battered Breast Tenders! It will be a Smurfalicious good time!
