I relived my childhood the other night.  And my daughters were there to see it.

I took my husband and my three daughters – ages 4, 3 and 2 – to the preview of Winnie the Pooh the other night.  The mood was festive, the anticipation high, and the smiles broad!

After Radio Disney entertained the crowd, Sarah went down to the front to show her dance moves to the whole audience, and I got my free popcorn by checking in on Foursquare, we all settled in to watch one of my favorite childhood classics come to life!

I worried at first that the language might be too mature, there might be something scary in the Hundred Acre Woods, or that my girls would be too young to truly understand the magical world of Pooh and his friends.

I worried for nothing.

All three sat intently for the 68 minute movie that saw Pooh on his eternal hunt for “Huny” and Eeyore trying to find his tail… or tale…. or tael…  depending on who spelled it!

The whimsical, classic tale is beautifully drawn, hysterical, and heartwarming.  And true to the classic Winnie the Pooh that I grew up with.  No over the top special effects, no seriously complicated musical numbers, and no detachment from what A. A. Milne meant for his beloved characters.

And I LOVED how the movie incorporated the words in the book into the movie.  You’ll see what I mean when you see it!

And as I sat, My 2 year old Megan, tucked under my arm, Sarah on my lap laughing and staring, and Katie curled up next to my husband, I thought, “This is my childhood rewound.  But through the eyes of my children.”

How often does that happen?

This movie is the perfect family outing for kids of ages and the movie is worth every penny!
