With so many amazing choices of places to eat in Houston, how do you choose? Well, it depends on what part of town you are in, what you are in the mood for and what other people say about the place! Like me! So here you go… if you are anywhere near CityCentre in Houston, you need to park your car and walk up to the second story of CityCentre and experience the delicious food and awesome atmosphere at The Grub Burger Bar!
I walked into a lively, rustic scene with an indoor and outdoor dining area. The order at the front restaurant gives a hip vibe that anyone will enjoy. I ordered at the ‘bar’ and had a seriously hard time deciding. But a burger, some sweet potato fries and an amazing hand spun shake were definitely on the must have list!
I settled into a booth and was immediately served my Abita Root Beer Float! This HUGE shake was amazing! A root beer float fan for life, it is possible that this one is among the best. While enjoying that, my Guacamole Burger and Sweet Potato fries arrived.
Biting into the burger was a moment of happiness. There is nothing better than a well made burger that has the evidence of high quality meat seasoned to perfection and the creaminess of toppings that make it melt in your mouth. This burger had it all!
Now, Sweet Potato Fries are a weakness of mine. But they have to be good. Very good. Spiked with rosemary salt – who would have thought that? – they are a sweet and tangy addition to any of the Grade A burgers.
But the thing that really impressed me about The Grub Burger bar was the service. All of the employees were cheerful, helpful and enthusiastic! I love that! Sometimes in these ‘hip’ places, you get some surly young kids. But here you get a staff that truly seems to love where they work. And that is an awesome reason to go in itself!
