I love the variety of restaurants in Houston, TX. And I try to dine at as many as possible. And when I hear from friend after friend that one is amazing, I have to check it out!
On a recent staycation in Houston, I had Smashburger on my list. I have been hearing about it for a while that Smashburger is the place to go for burgers, shakes and more all American food. So I wanted to check it out for myself!
I gathered my girls – and my new 4 year old on her birthday – and headed out to Smashburger.
The girls and I entered a cool, open restaurant with enticing scents filtering through the air. I love places like this. The all American decor and easy menu got us through the line and our food being prepared immediately.
The menu had a variety of food from burgers to salads to shakes. And I wanted to sample it all!
We chose to treat our birthday girl with the shake of the month, the PB & Jelly. I grabbed 4 straws as the thick concoction came out. And all 4 of us LOVED it. It was not an overwhelming taste and was refreshing and a real treat for us all.
My girls ordered grilled cheese sandwiches and I ordered an Avocado and Bacon Cheeseburger and the Sweet Potato Fries!
I have to say, as the food came out, I was impressed that the burger was full of avocado and that there was no skimping on the ingredients. The burger was awesome! I loved the flavor of the actual patty. It was not your ‘fast food’ flavor. It was real meat with simple seasonings and distinct in that.
The sweet potato fries were my favorite, though. The combination of salty and sweet was perfectly balanced and I am already craving them again!
There are Smashburger restaurants all over the place and you can find your nearest location on their website! Go try them out and then come back and tell me what you thought! I bet you love it as much as I did!
