When the weather starts changing it’s important to have some good toys that will entertain the kids for longer than a few minutes. Roominate fit just that requirement for my kids, and their cousins!
A little worried my kids would go crazy when we opened The Roominate Townhouse, I took my oldest over to spend a little quality time with her cousin to try it out first. These girls had so much fun building their own little homes and then helping each other add the little touches here and there. When we first opened the box they started looking for instructions on how to build the Townhouse; but there aren’t any! I love that there are no instructions, because it really makes this a completely open ended toy.
Once they figured out there were no instructions, they had such a blast building walls, adding stickers, and creating their own little homes to visit. I thought the little table and chair they put together for the doll was a nice touch to one home, while the other had a fantastic staircase and ceiling fan built with the included motor.
While there aren’t a set of instructions for building the actual townhouse, it does come with a few ideas for smaller items like the ceiling fan, and a treadmill. When we brought the Roominate Townhouse back home my 7 year old got right to work building a line of treadmills. After following the simple instructions she used her imagination to add extra special touches to it.
I love that the box turns into a carrying case for easy storage of the many pieces. It’s made it easy for the kids to pull down when their homework is done, or when I need a few minutes to catch up on some work. I think we’ll be buying some of the extra sets for a few more of the motors to really have some STEM fun.
