As a parent, I have some concerns with the food that my children put in their mouths (same concerns I have about the choices for adults). I’ll admit, we all love our snacks! I can’t say no to treats! However, I also try hard to incorporate healthy options, too. Thanks to a line of nutrition bars from Zone Perfect, both the kids and the adults in my family have some tasty options, loaded with the kind of ingredients that makes me smile!
For the adults, the products are called Perfectly Simple. They come in 4 flavors – Cranberry Almond, Toasted Coconut, Peanut crunch, and their newest – Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. All of them are gluten free, contain around 170-200 calories, and all of them are packed with 10 grams of protein! They have a dense consistency and are quite satisfying when you feel the hunger pains starting. My favorite flavor is the toasted coconut. Although I’m usually not a fan of coconut, somehow toasting it makes it scrumptious. If you are on the go a lot as I am, keeping these bars handy has helped me finish my errands without thinking about stopping for fast food somewhere along the way. They are quite satisfying, and I also had enough energy to continue through the day.
For the kids, they have their own line of bars called Kid Zone Perfect.
These come in 3 delicious flavors – Carmel Crunch, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Yellow Cupcake. Each bar is packed with 23 vitamins and minerals, 5 grams of protein, and 3 grams of fiber. These are the perfect snack for active kids, or when your family is on the go. Double header baseball game? Have a nutrition bar in between. Traveling for the holidays? Pack a few of these in the car. My kids loved the Caramel Crunch flavor. Like other nutrition bars, these have a dense consistency but the addition of pretzel bits gives this bar a bit of a crunch. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip has a nice peanut flavor and is slightly chewy. The Yellow Cupcakes tastes like, well, CUPCAKE! A little bit sweet for me, but the kids loved them (which is the intended audience anyway)! These bars have now become a staple in my kids lunch boxes.
You can find all of these bars in the nutrition aisle at grocery stores, drug stores, and larger retailers such as Target nationwide. You can also order them online!
