Weeknight meals are a challenge almost every day here. With three kids who all like the same thing and never want to try anything new, I end making the same things and getting bored quickly. I love Asian food but am terrible at making it from scratch. Plus, with my kids, the chances of them actually eating it are slim. So I have to get creative! The other day I used the convenient Lee Kum Kee sauce to make a Crockpot Kung Pao Chicken and it was DE-li-cious!

Lee Kum Kee Sauces

These sauces are in every store as I see them all the time. With flavors like Sauce for Lettuce Wraps, Orange Chicken, Mongolian BBQ Stir-Fry and Brocolli Beef, you can have a different meal every night. The pouches make 4-6 servings so I only needed one for my chicken.

This is a toss in and walk away recipe. Just add carrots, onions, broccoli and a whole chicken. I cleaned the innards of the chicken out, tossed the brocoli and carrots in the bottom of the pot, laid the chicken on top and added the entire pouch of Lee Kim Kee Kung Pao Chicken sauce. I set the crockpot on low and walked away.

Eight hours later, the chicken fell apart when I touched it and came out juicy and tender. The veggies soaked up the sauce and the entire dish was awesome! I added some salt after the fact but it really was not needed. I think that this sauce would really shine in a skillet meal stir-fry as well. The rich flavor could be really concentrated and you would get that amazing restaurant taste!

I loved this easy recipe and my kids even ate it! I have been planning meals to try the other sauces and can not wait to share them with you!
