Aspartame, Saccharin, and Sucralose – what do they all  have in common (besides being totally unhealthy?) Well, if you are like me, they are things I avoid for many, many reasons. So when I was given the opportunity to sample a SUGAR FREE ALL NATURAL cookie, I jumped at the chance!  Introducing Koochikoo Cookies!  Sweetened only with Monk Fruit, these crispy cookies with a home made taste will tickle your taste buds and put a smile on your face. What is that? What is “monk fruit”? Glad you asked.  To me, it looks similar to a Kiwi, but produces a fruit that is 300 times sweeter than sugar, making this the perfect alternative to one of those nasty artificial sweeteners.  The Koochikoo name is derived from a Native American word meaning “tickle” – hence “tickle your taste buds”.  The cookies come in 4 flavors – Blissful Chocolatey Brownie, Joyful Mapley Oatmeal, Cheerful Chocolatey Chip, and Sunny Strawberry Twist.

Koochikoo Cookies

My first sample was the chocolate chip.  The cookies are small and crispy, but what struck me the most was how they looked homemade. After my first bite, I immediately reached for another…. then another… then another. YUM! As I was stuffing my face savoring the flavor, I took a look at the ingredients. Words like “organic” and “natural” popped out more than once. I like that!  Next I tried the chocolate brownie cookies. The smell of rich chocolate hit my nose as soon as I opened the bag. More crispy, yummy goodness with a great chocolatey taste. The oatmeal cookies have a strong maple flavor, and the strawberry twist tastes like reals strawberries. Unlike other sugar free foods I have tried in the past, I did not notice any kind of unpleasant aftertaste. It’s amazing how sweet these cookies taste when they contain no sugar.

You can see from the images that these look homemade.  I can attest that they also have a homemade taste. My kids thoroughly enjoyed these as well. I do not hesitate to drop a few of these in their lunchboxes. It has also become the requested after school snack.Koochikoo Cookies
