I am sitting here in a Sunday night, connecting with people on the net, wishing my 4 year old would stay in bed, and thinking I need a little weekend wind me down glass of wine.

I head over to my stash and happily choose flipflop wines Cabernet Sauvignon.  I know that it will be crisp, clean, and rich with flavor.  I have yet to be disappointed by any make of flipflop wines, as you can see in my previous review, so I am not surprised when this is no exception!

Sure, I have more expensive wines in my cabinet, but at just $7.00 a bottle, I will not feel guilty having to replace this one when I go to the store!  Plus, it just pleases my palette!

flipflop’s Cabernet Sauvignon is a dry red with blackberry and dark cherry undertones.  Every sip sort of lingers on my tongue and satisfies my need for bold flavor and warmth late at night.  I just love it!  A really great wine!

But one can not stay on one bottle of wine for long lest one forgets to try the other goodies in her cabinet!

So after my glass of the Cab, I opened the Merlot from flipflip wines.

The first thing that always strikes me with a Merlot is the aroma.  I can usually tell if I will like a wine simply by smelling it.  If it is too powerful, too musty almost, I know it is going to feel heavy to me and I like clean, light wines.

The first thing I smell with this Merlot is dark, rich plums.  I love plums.  Such a wonderful fruit full of color and flavor.

There is something else I smell in the flipflop Merlot, but I can not put my nose on it.  Maybe a coffee or chocolaty aroma?  Either one is fine with me as I am in love with both!

But the most important thing about what my nose took in was that the scent was fresh and distinct and crisp.  Which means the wine will be a good fit for me!  Sure enough, as I enjoy a nice, warming sip of Merlot, I am not disappointed.  Another winner from flipflop and shock to my system that this is such an affordable wine!

As I enjoy my Merlot slowly – I did already have a Cab after all – I think of the other thing that I love about flipflop wines.  Their affiliation and donation program with Soles4Souls, Inc.  ‘The international shoe charity is dedicated to providing free footwear to those in need. The program will raise much needed funds to give one pair of flip-flop sandals for each bottle of flipflop wine purchased (up to 100,000 pairs for the first 100,000 bottles sold, where promotion is legal.) To learn more about Soles4Souls, please visit: http://www.soles4souls.org/.’

I love that when  I buy this wine, I am also helping someone in need.  That is how all products should operate, in my opinion!

So next time you are at the store and browsing the wine section for that perfect bottle to go with your steak dinner, or the gift for your dinner hostess, be sure to check out flipflop wines!  Your recipient will be thrilled with the quality product and you will be ecstatic about the price and the charity work you helped donate to!
