Fairytale Theatre Lets Kid’s Imagination Run Wild with Magnetic Stories

I opened the box and my youngest, Megan, was instantly excited. Fairytales, magnetic clothing and accessories for the included dolls and a magnetic stage were immediate hits. As a mom I thought, ‘Now this is so COOL!’  Build & Imagine, makers of colorfully illustrated magnetic building sets called StoryWalls, has expanded their product line to include Fairytale Theatre and Pet Portrait Studio. We were the lucky recipients of the Fairtale Theatre and my kids (and I) are excited about it and have already created some amazing stories!

Getting started was super easy. We just opened the box, took out the pieces to the theatre backdrop, of which several walls are magnetic, and stuck them together. Then we popped out the accessories, clothes and animals that could help us dress and imagine with our characters.

With the ability to change the scenes to whatever kids want, the ability to move the walls to make the story pop and the additional fun of changing the clothing and the accessories with every new idea, this is a definite hit with me and the kids! We, literally, sat for over an hour playing with this set on one story alone that the kids created.

Here is what is really important :

Both Fairytale Theatre and Pet Portrait Studio encourage left (math/science) and right (creativity) brain play.Kids construct magnetic panels using foundational STEM skills like spatial reasoning and problem solving, and then make up storylines that heighten their language skills. Fairytale Theater has more than 50 costumes and props to spark imaginative play, and Pet Portrait Studio includes four wooden dress-up pets in addition to the two wooden people. These new kits appeal to boys as much as to girls making them ideal for sibling play or with the kids next-door.

My kids literally love this thing. I find then at any given time playing together, sharing the dolls and recreating the scenes. It is a sure hit and I would highly recommend it to any family!
