#HersheysHalloween

I am no baker but I still love to make fun, themed and interesting treats for my girls. But to see me spending hours in the kitchen making something from scratch is rare. So I made this Easy Halloween Cookie Recipe just by adding a few pieces of candy from Hershey’s. I look like a cool and creative mom and I can still get other things done during the day!

We can all open a box, add eggs and butter and stir, right? So that is what I did. I made these easy Halloween cookies and loved them so much I made cupcakes too! All I needed was an oven and the creative thinking to make these fun.

Before I went shopping, though, I spent some time on the Celebrate with Hershey’s website getting ideas. There are some super cute ideas on there that would work not only for Halloween, but for Fall too. So as I shopped, I thought about that too! How can I make something Halloween -y and then change one think to make it Fall?

With Hershey’s vast array of candies, this proved to be easier than I thought!

I knew – because Hershey’s sent me a huge box of Halloween candy – that I wanted to do something with the Pumpkin Spice! Hershey’s Kisses. I walked through the aisles and it hit me – mainly because there was a photo – Witch Hat cookies!

I grabbed the ingredients and then got some Pumpkin cake mix too for the cupcakes.  I looked around some more and found some really cute Halloween Shaped plastic bowls and some other things I thought I might use through the season. By now, I was craving cookies so I headed home to bake.

I used the Funfetti Halloween cookie mix that has the black and orange sprinkles in it already. I added butter and an egg and watched them cook up. I opened the Orange icing I bought and went to work!

I used York Peppermint patties (they are shaped like Pumpkins!) as the rim on a lot of the hats and then the Pumpkin Spice kisses as the toppers. To add a more fall feel, I used the Mini Reese’s peanut Butter Cups to make Pilgrim hats! How fun are these?

I got a little creative with one cupcake and decided to cover it in Reese’s Pieces and that was a lot of fun. Plus is is very festive and fun! Ice the bottom of the cupcake first and then the top. Start at the bottom and work your way up!

Hershey’s has a ton of other fun recipes that use Kit Kats, Jolly Rancher Chews, Jolly Rancher Caramel Apple Lollipops and more! And – please, I beg you-  get some ‘Scream’ Eggs! They are green and white in the middle and Y U M!
