With life revolving around homework, school events, laundry and other kid focused activities, taking a mass amount of time to prepare dinner is just unreasonable. So I rely heavily on my slow cooker. However, it makes way more than my kids and I can eat in one meal. With leftovers being a mainstay in this house, I love that the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System is here and able to help me save food for months on end!
The advantages of a sealing system that really works are vast. First of all, the super sealing technology of the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System allows food to stay stored in your freezer without the fear of freezer burn. The system literally sucks out all of the air around the food to make a seal that nothing but your opening it with scissors can break. So whether you are sealing a steak, chicken dish or even a soup, you can seal every nook and cranny easily!
The FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System has an air-tight heat-seal, removable drip tray (this is new, my saver from 5 years ago does not have it!) and seals with minimal bag waste. In fact, it keeps food fresh up to five times longer than zipper bags. If you buy in bulk, on sale or see a lot of food waste in your home, you could potentially save up to $2700 annually with FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System!
This last week I made my family favorite Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken and Rice. Of course, I had a ton of leftovers. But I knew that with our schedule, we would have no chance to eat the leftovers in time if they were in the fridge. So I used my FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System to save the rest for later.
Check out this super easy recipe below:
- 5- 6 chicken tenderloin pieces, frozen
- 1 bag petite carrots
- 1 onion, cubed
- 1 can cream of potato soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1.5 can of chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups rice, cooked according to package directions
- Blend all ingredients together in a crock pot. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4 hours. 30 minutes before done, make rice. Pile chicken mixture over rice and serve.
As you can see, this super simple recipe is perfect for that easy family meal!
After we ate, I used my FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System to save the rest for a later date! So one meal turns into two or more and none of it goes to waste!
