Let’s face it.  Whether you are planning a staycation in your own city or a trip somewhere new, activities can get seriously expensive.  Especially if you have children!

On a recent staycation in my hometown of Houston, TX, I was introduced to CityPass.  And I will never travel again without purchasing a book of activities at a steep discount.  Like a 46% savings on 7 possible places to visit from museums to the Zoo and more.

CityPass #GoHouston

Houston’s CityPass includes 5 tickets with 7 options for your and your’s to go explore.  I decided that I did not know enough about my city so I made it a point to check out the museums, Downtown Aquarium and take the children to the Houston Childen’s Museum.

See my slideshow of all of the attractions I visited below:

CityPass is so easy and such a great idea.  Simply purchase your booklet of tickets for the attractions on your city – or a city you are visiting.  The cost will save you up to 50% off of regular admission prices to these attractions.  Take the booklet to each attraction and enjoy knowing that you saved BIG just because of CityPass.

In my exploration of Houston, I started with the Museums.  I love the Museum District and it has been years since I have been able to linger at the the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Museum of Fine Arts.  I loved moving from exhibit to exhibit exploring Egyptian jewelry and art, native Indian displays and more.  I absolutely refell in love with the art work at the Fine Arts Museum and had a sense of pride that these pieces were hanging just miles from my door.

I also took in the huge Houston Aquarium that reintroduced me to amazing animals that live under water.  From the stingrays that you can touch and feed to the to amazing white tigers, this place is a perfect way to spend a day.  It is cool inside – important in Houston – and featured the massive ferris wheel that you can see from every angle in Houston.

Along with the Museums, you can use CityPass to explore the Houston Zoo, NASA and Space Center Houston and so much more!  I won’t plan and explore any other cities and their attractions without CityPass.  The savings and the variety of attractions is amazing!
