A few weeks ago, I received the diet book CINCH! to look at and test aspects of.  I read it immediately, as most of you know, I am trying to lose some poundage.  I like what this book has to say.  It is an easy read, easy follow, practical plan.  For 5 days, the book calls for a dramatic cleanse, or, cold turkey food eating habit changing, plan.  Now, I have not done the 5 day plan entirely because I am not a huge fan of yogurt or raspberries so I knew 5 days of that was not going to work for me.

But, in the interest of providing the most honest insight, I did add an incredible amount of spinach, almonds, and eggs into my diet.  These are not the only things I ate, as it would not have been a good combination, but kept me as close as I could be to “keeping it real”.

I have to tell you, I am glad I did.  Not necessarily for dramatic weight loss, but for the fact that I have now re- fallen in love with spinach and eggs!  In fact, the breakfast highlighted in the first 5 days of the plan, the egg and spinach scramble, has become my morning staple.  It is that good and easy to make and easy to stick to!

I have lost about 2 pounds in a little over a week.  It is not the 8 pounds that the cover boasts, but considering I did not really follow the first 5 day plan, I am pretty happy with my results.  I suspect, based on what the book asks a person to do, that is entirely possible to lose that much weight in a week!  I know, from past diets, that it is not an unachievable claim at all!

After the 5 days, the book calls for a 25 day plan that helps you relearn to eat healthily and continue to curb cravings!  I am attempting parts of that now, and have to say, the Black Bean Tacos with Cilantro – Jalapeño Guacamole are UNBELIEVABLE!  I may just be addicted soon!

I would say, for a diet book that is out there competing in a very cramped niche, this book is a great start!  Especially for someone looking to make a dramatic change in their dietary habits and learn some really great recipes that are healthy and beneficial!  Ms. Sass’s theories are clear, her explanations understandable, and expertise is apparent.
