When I was a kid, we often found ourselves at the corner store. Whether on bikes or for a saturday outing running errands with Mom. If I had any money to spend it was always on a good stick – or 2 or 3 – of beef jerky. These sticks of beefy goodness are a weakness of mine, and now Vermont’s Smoke & Cure are on my list to seek out and purchase as a special treat in my adult life.

Smoothies were another favorite childhood treat that has followed me into adulthood. My mom mostly made us Orange Julius, and had probably never even considered tossing in something healthy. These days it seems every smoothie made has to have something healthy in it. I was pretty excited to try the Aloha Daily Good Greens Chocolate Blend in our latest smoothie. We mixed up an Avocado, Banana, Ice, and Almond Butter along with the Daily Good Greens powder. Talk about a protein boost! The kids weren’t too keen on it, but the pickiest of the bunch actually enjoyed it. I didn’t tell her about the avocado until much later.

As for the non-food items, I am in love with the Nellie’s Laundry soda! I rarely can tell a difference in my clothes, but I feel like I can with this. The stain stick is still being put to the test with my kids, so I can fully say how I feel about it yet, but I’m all over this natural laundry soap. The Jack N’Jill toothpaste has also been a hit. Some of the kids weren’t fans, but they seem to be coming around. I’m adding it to the shopping list to check out their other flavors to see if that brings the rest on board.
