What’s better than going on an adventure with your children and a new doll? Knowing that adventure help end childhood hunger of course! We got to enjoy an adventure this month with Everest the Penguin from Cuddle + Kind, a doll who gives back to children suffering hunger.
These handcrafted, hand knit dolls are amazingly soft, and are made with lively colors. Everest the Penguin has become a part of our family. The girls take him on adventures in our backyard, and when they’re feeling a little blue, it’s Everest they want to cuddle up with. I don’t blame them one bit either, I’ve found myself keeping company with the cuddly penguin throughout the day as well.
When my dear Chloe was having a rough day where no one wanted to play with her, I invited her outside with just Everest and I. This girls imagination always has me captivated. She was telling stories, pointing out fun nature scenes, and discovering the “First Flying Penguin”! Everest turned her day right around, and that made my heart smile.
As a mother, making sure my kids smile is very important to me. There was a day I still remember so clearly about 3 years ago, where I stood in my kitchen and cried. We were struggling through a new job change, and our grocery budget was pretty minimal. While we had a good amount of food storage just for such occasions, all they really wanted that day was fresh fruit – and I couldn’t give it them. We were very blessed by a neighbor that same day who stopped by with bags of fresh peaches from their tree.
Not everyone has a neighbor to bring them fresh peaches though. That’s why I love companies passionate about ending childhood hunger. With every purchase of a Cuddle + Kind doll, 10 meals are provided to children in need. The makers are so passionate they make sure you and your children will have a reminder of the good you’ve helped with a wristband attached to each doll. It was one of the first things my kids asked me about when Everest showed up.
What kind of adventure will you take today?
