I look forward to any holiday with my girls. They get time off of school which means that I get more time with them. The last thing I want to do, however, is spend that precious time in the kitchen recreating the perfect meals my mother used to. Lucky for me, I discovered HoneyBaked Ham and their amazing hams, turkey breasts, sides and desserts a few years back. They help me give my girls that down home family holiday meal I always love without the loss of their mom to the kitchen. Add to the meal that is easy to heat and serve some awesome finds at the discount store to make your table pop and your home will feel as perfect as ever with a third of the effort! Here are my tips on How to Serve the Perfect Easter Meal Without Cooking!
Dress up the Easter Table
Nothing says fun, festive and special like a table dressed for the holidays. You don’t have to spend a lot, especially if you are like me and your only guests are children, but you can still add some color and some springtime to your Easter table! I went to the discount store and loaded up on $1 and $2 items for my table. Some simple large false flowers, a colorful Easter basket, some glitter eggs and some sticker confetti made my table. Add to that the amazing food and this is as beautiful and special as it gets!
Make Meal Choices Everyone Will Love
My kids love ham. When I say love, I mean LOVE. So it is never a difficult choice to go to HoneyBaked Ham to purchase their amazing hams. One small ham will serve the four of us for Easter dinner and leave plenty left over for Ham sandwiches, soups and more! Their second choice for meats if they have to make one is turkey. So when we went to the HoneyBaked Ham store on Breck Rd in Houston, we had to have a ham and their amazing HoneyBaked Turkey Breast. We added some sides that they all would love and were ready for Easter dinner! Now all I have to do to enjoy Easter is hide the eggs, help the kids find them and then heat up and serve the amazing foods we purchased!
Make Laughter Part of the Meal
There are so many things you can learn about your kids at the dinner table. Add the excitement of Easter and you can really dive deep into their favorite stories. Great food on the table that everyone will eat keeps there there longer filling their bellies which in turn fills your heart with quality time with them. Let them run the conversation and ask you silly things too! We play ‘what would the Easter Bunny do!” at our table. ‘What would the Easter Bunny do if he met Elsa?’ Fun conversation topics like that which keep the smiles going!
Keep the Decorations Up Longer
Since Easter is early this year, April 5, I am certainly planning ahead. It feels like it is just around the corner. With my busy single mom lifestyle, I am coming out of Spring Break with more to do than going in. Easter is going to sneak up on me before I know it. So I am glad I went to HoneyBaked Ham and already got my foods I need to make a real Easter dinner. I also already have my tablescape up and will keep it up through Easter and into the following weekend, I am sure. I want this beautiful feeling of Springtime, family and love to continue as long as possible.
