There are certain milestones that every mom looks forward to. The first smile, the first step, the first time your new baby has a blow out on your lap. OK, I made that one up. No one looks forward to that. But we do look forward to the day when we don’t have to buy diapers. I am already there and have pocketed my little raise that comes when the cash register stops ringing up the things my kids pee in. But the memories of comparing brand name versus generic, struggling to get everything I needed and still afford gas and the disappointment when a brand failed are all front and center in my mind. I remember shopping for diapers at Walmart and always trusting the Parent’s Choice brand. I loved that they worked for half the price.

The other weekend a dear friend who has four daughters, aged 9 to 18 months, invited me to their beach house with them. I got a call before I left telling me that she had forgotten more diapers for her little one. Understanding that she did not want to haul all of her kids around the island I told her that I would happily bring her some. In fact, I jumped at the chance as I was struggling with what gift to take her as a thank you for inviting me down!

Check out the Walmart near you that carried their New and Improved Parent’s Choice Diapers!!

As I got ready left for Walmart and then the beach, I remembered the $1.50 off Parent’s Choice diapers coupon (*while supplies last) I had seen online. I quickly printed it and headed out. As I walked the aisles of Walmart, my idea for a Beach Tote Diaper Bag formed. She did not ‘need’ another diaper bag but she might want a fun tote for future use. I grabbed one, some ribbon to tie a bow to it and headed for the diaper aisle.

I picked up her daughter’s size and grabbed some Parent’s Choice wipes – because a mom of ALL aged children NEVER have enough wipes! – some shampoo and body wash and headed out. The diapers, wipes and soaps were just about the price of a regular bag of brand name diapers. In fact, I saved so much more than I anticipated that I could also pick up a building block set my daughter wants for her birthday. Luckily, it was on clearance!

As I stuffed my diaper beach tote, I realized everything would not fit. So I removed all of the diapers from the bag and rolled and taped them so that I could stuff the tote to the top with them. It added a little fun to the tote and I loved it! But as I inhaled that familiar scent of diaper, noticed the fun bear design and took in the fading line that tells you baby is wet, I was taken back to my three girl’s baby hood. It was a magical time and I would not trade a day of it. But I also would not trade the estimated $240 in saving a year I had if I chose Parent’s Choice over the other brands.

But nothing saves money if they don’t work and I remember these diapers as being absorbent and reliable whenever I used them!

My friend loved the Beach Tote Diaper Bag and I loved giving it to her. Turns out, she had left the baby shampoo at home too. In the same bag she forgot full of diapers! So I had saved the day and given her a gift that she could really use!

If you have a baby or know someone who does, print out the coupon and give Parent’s Choice Diapers a try! I bet you like them as much as the ‘big brands’ as much as you like the major savings that come with them!
