We all waited for it, counted down the days and celebrated the on set of summer not a month ago. But I think we call all admit now, in the heat of it, that though we are loving the extra time we have with our kids, we are getting a little tired of the same old ham sandwich for lunch everyday. And so are they! SO while visiting HEB the other day, I checked out the great snack and meal ideas in the frozen food section that could help fuel my kids energy so they can make the most of the summer play time! After all, the last thing I want to see this summer is my kids curled up on the couch taking naps instead of being creative and playing with their friends! I grabbed a staple around here, Tyson® Chicken Nuggets but also stopped at the section that has State Fair® Corn Dogs. I always forget about these when I am shopping but I know the kids and I both love them! So I grabbed a box and immediately starting thinking of how I could dress them up with creative dips! After some thought, I came up with three unique corn dog dips that I know will be a hit around here this summer! Avocado Dip, Cole Slaw Dip and a Mustard Dip are the perfect pairings for State Fair® Corn Dogs!

Cole Slaw Dip Recipe
One of my favorite topping for juicy hot dogs is Cole Slaw. I love the tangy kick that it gives a warm hot dog. So I thought, why can’t I turn this into a dip for corn dogs? I can get the same creamy tang that compliments the sweet breading of the State Fair® Corn Dogs and the warmth of the quality hot dog inside! Making this was simple. Throw everything in a bowl, chill and serve!
By the way, ANY of these dips are also awesome with Tyson® Chicken Nuggets. Impress the kids with dips that they never thought they would love with their Fun Nuggets!

- 1 1⁄2 cups sour cream
- 1 cup finely shredded cabbage
- 1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped (find them in the asian food aisle)
- 1⁄3 cup prepared coleslaw dressing
- 1⁄4 cup sliced green onion
- 2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- In medium bowl combine all of the ingredients. Mix well. Cover and chill to blend flavors. That's IT!
Mustard Dip Recipe
My next dip is based on a standard topping for hot dogs! Mustard! But it is harder to put on corn dogs, which are so delish with it, by the way! So why not make a very simple Mustard Dip that I can use with every bite? So this Mustard Dip, which is also a great on for pretzels, is perfect!
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup prepared yellow or Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon ranch salad dressing mix
- 2-1/4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
- In a large bowl, combine all of the inghredients! Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and then serve!
Avocado Dip Recipe
This last fun and unique dip benefits from my very favorite topping on burgers and hot dogs! Avocado Dip is an easy, creamy and delicious dip because it only enhances the flavor! This is not guacamole but it is close and would be a great spread for sandwiches or nachos!
- 2 avocados - peeled, pitted and diced
- ¾ cup sour cream
- ¾ cup salsa
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 dash ground black pepper
- M ash the avocados after cubing them, add the other ingredients and mix until smooth! I use a potato masher to get them smooth! Chill and serve!
