That one sentence from my cherished dad will resonate through me for years to come. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram at all, you were a part of one of the most amazing gifts I could have ever given my dad! A Sears Lawn and Garden Shopping Spree! When I say ‘spree’, I mean spree! We had a $1500 Sears Gift Card allocated only to him where he could purchase high quality items from Craftsman and more to help him dress up his outdoor areas! The reason this was such a BIG deal is that my dad is a Master Gardner and has spent the last few months turning his entire back yard into the most amazing garden! So when I called him and told him to start planning his shopping trip online at Sears.com, I truly think he might have been speechless!

As a daughter you want to show your dad all of the appreciation he deserves for putting up with you. I mean, seriously, we put our dads through the ringer. Especially in the teenage years! So nothing ever seems good enough for Father’s Day. I will admit, there were times when I would roam the aisles of a store, shopping in vain and then just sending him a card. It was fine with him, but I have always wanted to do something more! So MY gratitude to Sears for allowing me to pass on this gift is deep and meaningful! Especially since, through this experience, I was reminded of how Sears is the perfect ‘Destination Dad’ store to shop! Honestly, I shop at Sears for awesome clothes and shoes, but I forget about all of the amazing Craftsman tools and garden items that can put a smile on dads face that may take a while to wipe off!

The day I took my dad on his shopping spree happened to be in the middle of some of the worst flooding Texas has ever seen. So my kids got to go with us since school was out that day! They followed my dad around looking at things like the Craftsman 3 pc. Water Hose Metal Nozzle Set, the Craftsman Resin Storage Buildings with Exclusive VersaTrack™ Compatibility, the Craftsman Briggs & Stratton 725 EXi Platinum Series™ OHV Engine, Front Drive Self-Propelled Mower, the Craftsman Fiberglass D-Handle Garden Spade and so, so much more! With every section of the vast lawn and garden area, they found something else he needed! From small things like weed eater lines to larger items like a Craftsman Craftsman Realbarrow Cart and a Craftsman 9A Electric Pole Saw, the shopping was on! One of the largest items he needed but was putting off upgrading was his mower. The front yard of the house still needed to be tended to but he could not justify upgrading. Until now. So we looked at the variety of mowers, including the Craftsman B&S engine with Auto Pedal transmission and a 46″ cutting deck. He decided he did not need one that large for his yard but it sure was fun checking them out!
As we walked around loading the cart full of items in one day that would have taken him years to amass on his own, we decided the larger items, like the mower and the garden cart, needed to be shipped to him. The mower was ready for pick up almost before we completed his order at his home store and the others were shipped FREE and are arriving any day now!

Just as my dad is grateful for the opportunity to go a little wild and upgrade all of his lawn and garden tools at once, I am eternally grateful to Sears for allowing me this unique opportunity with him! Even with a mower, a cart and every gardening tool under the sun that he needed, we did not even spend the entire $1500! So I got to reap some of the benefit and update my wardrobe a little. I even had my carpets and upholstery cleaned by Sears!
