Valentine’s Day has always been a popular one with the Peanuts gang. From the first comic strips that Charles Schultz created to the obsession we all loved to follow with the little red headed girl, the Peanuts has been a Valentine’s mainstay for years!
How do I love thee, Snoopy? Let me count the ways… Whether it’s watching A Charlie Brown Valentine, reading (and re-reading) a favorite Peanuts book, or enjoying some Whitman’s chocolate packaged with a Snoopy plush, every Valentine’s Day millions of fans around the world find a variety of ways to share their love of the Peanuts gang.
Set your television sets to relive the childhood classics that we are introducing our children to! There will be two TV specials devoted to Valentine’s Day from The Peanuts! The first one, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, is the 13th special based upon the popular comic strip. It originally aired on CBS on January 28, 1975 and now airs every year on ABC. Check your local listing for the day and time in your area.
The second TV special, A Charlie Brown Valentine, is the 40th special. It was initially broadcast on February 14, 2002 on ABC. It is one of my absolute favorites and my kids and I curl up with it every year! Some cool little facts about this show?
- A Charlie Brown Valentine is one of the first to depict the Little Red-Haired Girl in full view, though she remains unnamed and does not speak.
- A Charlie Brown Valentine was the first Peanuts special to be produced after Charles Schulz’ death, as well as the first without Schulz on the production team.

What an adorable prize pack! My daughter gets a PEZ in her stocking each year; never thought of that for Valentine’s Day. So glad these characters are still around.
