**I received a 2 night stay at this hotel in this suite in exchange for my very honest opinion about the experience. No monetary compensation was received.**

I made the grave error of showing my kids the photos of the brand new Kid’s Aquatica Suite at the Omni Hotel at the Colonnade in San Antonio, TX before we left to go. By mistake I mean that for the 10 days leading up to the trip, all I heard was, ‘Are we leaving today for the Ocean room?’ Every day, every night, any time they could ask. While I was more than thrilled to be able to take my kids on the trip, I wondered if the room would live up to the photos online. Honestly, and with great excitement, I am here to tell you that the photos do not do the room justice at all!

We checked in with ease and were welcomed with smiles and each child got an Omni backpack with colors, games and more inside of it. The hotel is conveniently located off of I-35 and about 20 minutes from Sea World. There are plenty of restaurants around as well as a wonderful restaurant inside the hotel. But the highlight for me and the kids was walking into this multi-room suite that has a living room area, 2 bathrooms, a HUGE kids room with every amenities you can think of for kids, and a separate bedroom for mom. In addition, the kids room can be closed off from the mom’s room. Talk about VALUABLE!

First of all, the Kid’s Aquatica Suite is as large as a regular suite at the Omni. The space is HUGE and the Murphy beds that fold up into the wall unit make it even more spacious for 3 girls jumping with energy!  The suite houses 2 LARGE TV’s on the wall that are available for TV, movies that are provided, the PlayStation and the Wii U that was also provided and the games that go along with them. I now have three daughter’s who are Mario fans.

Among the entertainment provided, stuffed animals, colors, books and more decorate the room offering something for every child you have. My oldest camped out at the unique, ocean themed desk with the books and read them cover to cover. While that happened, Megan checked out the fish tank that also spills into the bathroom and Sarah became the Mario champ.

The other really awesome thing about the room is the intricate details the ‘sea life’ on the walls. Coral, reefs and more project out from the walls making kids feel like they are in the ocean. In addition, blue sub lights on the ceiling allow for ambiance and subtle lighting at bedtime. Perfect for kids who might be afraid of new spaces. With two bubble, multi changing lights floor to ceiling in the corner, the room sounded like an ocean too. But the favorite feature could just be the egg chair. Aside from the sea life bean bags, this chair housed one or more of my kids the entire time we were there!

The impressive room does not stop as we head to the bathroom though. Complete with a child size sink, the bath offered slip proof mats, puffs for the kids inside the pockets of the shower curtain, am mommy and baby duck family to play with and two over the head poncho towels for kids to dry off with. Seriously, I may have to redo my kids bathrooms after staying here!

Not that it really matters after you see the Kid’s Aquatica Suite but the adult room is luxurious and large! Being able to close the door between the rooms and still see the kids through the ‘port hole’ added to the feeling that I was ‘getting a break’ despite having three little girls with me!

I relaxed and worked in the living area, enjoyed long, hot showers in the bathroom and slept like a baby in the large, comfortable bed!

This suite can only add to any San Antonio experience. Enjoy Sea World, The Wildlife Ranch, Natural Bridge Caverns and more and then come back and relax knowing the kids are entertained and the mom has her feet up at the Omni!
