I have teased you with little posts before but this is my BIG annoucement post!  I am deeply honored to have been invited by Disneynature to attend the Red Carpet Premier of CHIMPANZEE.  The movie depicts the heartwarming story of Oscar, a Chimpanzee living in the African Forest, who is adopted by the alpha male Chimpanzee after something terrible happens to his mother.  I just know I am going to be leaving this premier wanting to hold and snuggle this brave 3 year old!

Global Resort Homes is providing our lodging while in Orlando for our nature inspired trip and the premier.  Check out their announcement of the blogger trip and the trailer to Chimpanzee below.

In addition to staying in beautiful homes and going to the once in a lifetime Red Carpet Premier, we will be treated to a plethora of nature inspired activities through the Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau which I can not wait to share with you!  We’ll also have the complete humbling honor of interviewing the impressive Dr. Jane Goodall, the directors of the film and the Senior Vice President of Corporate Citizenship Environment & Conservation for The Walt Disney Company.

Learn a little more about the film and the players instrumental in bringing it to the big screen in this ‘See Chimpanzees, Save Chimpanzees’ featurette below.  Note that a portion of the opening weeks profits will be donated by Disneynature to the Dr. Jane Goodall Foundation.  An easy and fun way to give back!

Another perk of this trip will be the – I am sure to be amazing – welcome dinner prepared by Chef Linda of A Chef of Your Own.  Chef Linda is a personal chef who has been preparing meals in people’s homes for over 15 years!  I can not wait to report back to you on what she ‘cooked up’ for us!

The trip to Orlando for these fantastic events starts, for me, on April 11, 2012.  But the movie, which is the fourth in the Disneynature series – ‘Earth’, ‘Oceans’, and ‘African Cats’ are the first three – hits theaters on Earth Day, April 20, 2012.

Here is a brief synopsis of the film:

Disneynature takes moviegoers deep into the forests of Africa with “Chimpanzee,” a new True-Life Adventure introducing an adorable young chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph.  Oscar’s playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family—including his mom, Isha, and the group’s savvy leader, Freddy — navigates the complex territory of the forest.

The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimps, who’d rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar’s family is confronted by a rival band of chimps, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever.  Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), “Chimpanzee” swings into theaters on Earth Day 2012.

I can not wait to see this film and go on this adventure.  But I am even more excited to share this with you.  LIKE Chimpanzee on Facebook to get all of the latest happenings!

And let me know what you want to hear about!  What question would you ask Dr. Jane Goodall?  What about the directors?  What park should I visit on my day at Walt Disney World?

I want to hear it all!  So leave a comment below and I will make sure I write them down!
