5 Easy Oreo Dessert Recipes for Super Bowl Sunday

Throwing a Super Bowl party? Don’t forget to balance the savory cheese dips, chicken wings and sliders requisite on a Super Bowl party menu with some sweetness. If you’re specifically looking for easy, chocolate-y dessert recipes to serve on Super Bowl Sunday, you’ve come to the right place. The following desserts will be a huge hit among your guests—just be sure to serve them with ice-cold milk

1) Oreo Cookie Footballs

Super cute and incredibly tasty, these bite-size treats won’t last long. Get the kids involved—they’ll have a blast forming the footballs and decorating the cookies with you. Similar to cake balls, cookie balls are the latest trend in dessert recipes.

Servings: 40

Ingredients

6 oz. (3/4 of 8-oz. pkg.) cream cheese, softened

1 pkg. (15.25 oz.) Chocolate Creme Cookies, finely crushed

2 pkg. (8 squares each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted

1 Tbsp. white decorating icing

Directions

Mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well blended.

Shape into 40 (1-inch) football shapes. Freeze 10 minutes. Dip in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan. Use icing to draw laces on footballs.

Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Tip: An oblong-shaped ice-cream scoop like this one is the easiest way to shape the footballs.

2) Oreo Brownies

You can’t go wrong with brownies. But add Oreos in the brownies and you’ve got a ‘slap your Grandma’ kind of dessert. If you haven’t much time to prepare for your Super Bowl party, this is one of the easiest dessert recipes around. Depending on how many guests are attending, you may need to double the recipe–they’re that good.

Servings: 24

Ingredients

1 pkg. (19 to 21 oz.) brownie mix (13×9-inch pan size)

15 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped

Directions

Prepare brownies and bake as directed on package for 13×9-inch pan, stirring chopped cookies into batter before pouring into prepared pan.

3) Oreo Cheesecake

Want to make a cheesecake but don’t have hours to spend perfecting it? Thanks to Philadelphia Ready-To-Eat Cheesecake Filling, you can serve a no-bake Oreo cheesecake without all the fuss. If anyone asks how you made such a divine dessert, just tell them it’s a family secret and offer another slice!

Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 tub (24.2 oz.) Philadelphia Ready-To-Eat Cheesecake Filling

12 Oreo Cookies, coarsely chopped, divided

1 Oreo Pie Crust (6 oz.)

Directions

Spoon cheesecake filling into large bowl. Remove 1/3 cup of the chopped cookies; set aside. Add remaining chopped cookies to filling; stir just until blended.

Spoon into crust. Smooth top lightly with back of spoon to form even layer. Sprinkle with the reserved chopped cookies.

Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

4) Smothered and Covered Oreo Chocolate Cake

If chocolate is your thing, this Oreo chocolate cake is one of the best dessert recipes this side of paradise. It’s like a huge Oreo cookie—the cream cheese, whipped topping and crushed cookie center is irresistibly delicious. Delight your guests’ taste buds and make it the most talked-about dessert of the party.

Servings: 16

Ingredients

1 pkg. (2-layer size) devil’s food cake mix

4 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate

1/4 cup butter

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sugar

2 cups thawed whipped topping

12 Oreo Cookies, coarsely crushed

Directions

Heat oven to 350ºF.

Prepare cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round pans as directed on package. Cool cakes in pans 10 minutes. Invert onto wire racks; gently remove pans. Cool cakes completely.

Microwave chocolate and butter in small microwaveable bowl on high 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 minutes. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in whipped topping and crushed cookies.

Place 1 cake layer on plate, spread with cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining cake layer. Spread top with chocolate glaze; let stand 10 minutes or until firm. Keep refrigerated.

Tip: If you want to really impress your guests, bake the cake in a special sandwich cookie shaped pan like this one from Williams-Sonoma. There is also a less expensive version in silicone or one from Nordic Ware.

5) Oreo Mint Tart Treats

It’s sweet and it’s tart, but it’s not a SweeTart. It’s Oreo mint goodness! These tasty treats are ideal for sharing and are real crowd-pleasers. From young children to older adults, everyone loves the taste or Oreo cookies. This is one of those dessert recipes that will grace other parties also—they’ll soon become dessert staple.
