I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Welch’s. I received product samples to facilitate my review, and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

#ShareTheMoment #MC

Moments with my kids are what I live for. But with school, tumbling, cheer and other distractions, some days I feel like I don’t get enough time with them. So I like to come up with fun things – like creating fun food – that lets me Share the Moment with them.

Welch’s Grape Juice and Grape Jelly has been a standard in this house for as long as I can remember. In fact, it was a standard when  I was growing up, too. A dependable comfort food, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich always seems to hit the spot. I remember opening my lunch at school to find them and always picturing my mom standing in the kitchen, working hard to make sure I had something good to eat.

Fast forward to moms making amazing Bento boxes lunches and being more creative than I ever could, and lunch is still a great way to bond with our kids. Even if we are not with them. But sometimes, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, I like to pull out my imagination and make things to get my kids to the table and spending quality time with me.

The other day, the girls and I were drowning in too much to do. So I pulled out my Welch’s Grape Jelly and Welch’s Grape Juice and got to creating a fun snack for all of us to enjoy. I saw this idea a while back on a talk show and had been wanting to try it anyway.

With the Welch’s Grape Juice, I went simple. I poured it into star shaped ice cube trays that I picked up a while back and let them set. Shaped cubes are a fun way to get kids to drink their water or juice. My kids even like to eat them as if a small ice icee treat.

Making Grape Roll Ups is simple. Cut the crusts off your bread and take a rolling pin and roll them into thin squares. I used a multi grain bread that was more dense so I had to apply some pressure. It is a soothing practice, really.

Once the bread is rolled out, add the Welch’s Grape Jelly. Now, if you want to make peanut butter and grape roll ups, add the peanut butter first and then the jelly. Once the jelly is on the bread, simply roll it as tight as you can into a log. Use a serrated knife to cut the bread into roll ups and you are done! I added some carrots and apples to the snack container and two of my girls came running in to see what I was doing.

I popped the ice cubes out of the ice cube tray, added some water, watched as the glass turned purple and laughed with my kids as we found time to share the moment.
