This one is going to make every mom who has a little fan of Star Darlings ever so happy! Since introducing the tween book series to you a few months ago, I have seen the first three books everywhere! Look for Collection #1, which is the first three books bound together, later this month in stores! Be sure to get those read because the next four (books 6-9) are out and we are celebrating with a book party here at the house! But, first, let’s talk about this book party and my Dreamy Marshmallow Popcorn Balls which are the perfect snack inspired by Piper, one of the Darlings that stars in Piper’s Perfect Dream!
My girls are all about finding new books to read that are entertaining and fun. While my 9 year old tends to go towards books about history and true stories, my 8 year old is starting to fall in love with a more mature ‘princess’ and ‘fairy’ type of character. Steeped in the true Disney tradition of enthralling children with epic worlds and dream inspiring stories, Star Darlings has them both entranced. This series, developed mainly for tweens, takes them from a kids book full of photos to chapter books with story lines that helps them create the worlds in their heads. These books are awesome because they encourage my girls to follow their dreams and to aspire to be more than they ever thought possible!
Star Darlings carries the message of individuality and the power of making good decisions. I always tell my girls that making good decisions can only lead to wonderful things. I love that this series, now in stores everywhere, drives that home as each Star Darling pursues her dream!
Along with the books, there are Star Darlings Dolls, mobile apps, animated shorts and so much more! While I received a beautiful wish board that lets my girls attach their wish and look at it every day while they try to accomplish it, as well as a Wish box that let’s them either store the books or store a wish, my winner will get so much more! But before we go to that, let’s celebrate these books with ideas for a Book Night party!
Once in a while the girls and I turn everything off, grab our current favorite book, a snack that is based on a book and curl up to read to each other for Family Book Night. This month, we decided that Piper’s Perfect Dream was the book to read as we all sat around snacking and relaxing into Wishworld. So I decided to make Dreamy Marshmallow Popcorn Balls for us to enjoy!
- ¼ cup bitter
- 1 3 ounce package blue jello
- 1 package mini marshmallows
- 8 cups microwave popcorn
- 2 small packs of blue chocolate candies
- Melt the butter completely in a large, microwavable bowl. Add in the blue jello straight from the package. Stir and microwave about 15 seconds. Add in marshmallows and microwave 45 seconds. Stir the mixture and microwave another 45 seconds. Mixture should be smooth. Add in popcorn that has cooled a bit and stir. Add in candy when mixture has cooled a bit. Stir. Spray your hands with non-stock cooking spray and mold into balls. Let cool and serve!
Aren’t these the perfect addition to any family book night? I love these because you can create whatever color you want and add in any candy you want too! They are just a bit sweet and a bit fruity in flavor and everyone loves them!
Now that you see the fun and excitement of not only Star Darlings, but the snacks that can encourage fun during Family Book Night, it is time to get your tweens excited about Star Darlings and the entire line of books and accessories!

I don’t wish to be the skunk at the garden party, but did you know that blue food dye (and Green, as well) is extremely hard on your kidneys? I would opt for making “Rocky Mountain road popcorn and opt for dark chocolate chunks instead of the blue candies.
