There are so many amazing things I want to tell you in this post that I hardly know where to get started! First of all, I think there are millions of us who saw and loved the Angry Birds Movie. I was lucky enough to go to the press junket in Hawaii to meet the stars. Yes, I know, many of you are still not speaking to me because I did not stuff you in my suitcase. But you might forgive me after I tell you how to get a FREE $7 movie download code every month from VUDU when you purchase the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS phone plan at Walmart. Yep, a free movie code to your phone via text message every month for as long as you keep the plan. So when I went to Walmart to purchase my Coolpad Catalyst phone, I also decided to throw an Angry Birds movie night. But I could not just ‘watch a movie’. I had to invite friends and make it an event. So please enjoy my Angry Bird party Ideas as you consider which phone to get from Walmart Family Mobile!
Angry Bird Cupcakes
No party is complete without cupcakes, in my opinions. So I had to do them up right. There are many options shown online but I needed something simple but fun. I decided to make my own Angry Bird Eyebrows to put on red cupcakes to honor the main character, Red! To pair with that, and to stay with the Angry Bird color theme I was going for, I also made Piggy Cupcakes. These were a HIT and so easy to make and put together!
What you need:
Red cupcake mix
Green Cupcake mix
Eggs
Oil
Red Icing
Green Icing
Black candy melts
Green round chocolate candy
For the Eyebrows, simply melt the candy melts according to package instructions. Once melted, add to a pastry bag with a small tip or a baggie that you cut the end off of. On parchment paper or a nonstick mat, draw your eyebrows. When the cupcakes are cooled and iced, top with the eyebrows.
For the Piggy Cupcakes, do the same thing, except with green, and leave the eyebrows out. Instead, use the green candies to make the ‘snout’ part!
These were a HUGE hit at the party and really made the table pop!
Pig Haven Fruit Bowls
In the movie, (spoiler alert), the pigs take the eggs and whisk them away. To build on that theme, I decided to create my own ‘Egg Haven’ with a Pig Snout watermelon bowl! Making this was super easy, the most time consuming part being balling the melons to be ‘eggs’.
What you need:
Large Watermelon (for Leonard, the King Pig)
Small Watermelon (for Gerald, the trusty sidekick)
Cantaloupe
Honeydew Melon
Blueberries
Green construction paper
Tape
You need the watermelons to sit flat so gently shave off the bottom of the melon until it provides a flat surface for the melon to balance on. Then cut the top of the melon off, trying to keep it straight. Take your measuring spoon and create melon balls from the inside of the watermelon. Cut the melons in half and ball them out too. Put all of the ‘eggs’ in a bowl and add the blueberries. Gently mix and then refill the watermelons with the ‘eggs’.
Take your green construction paper and fold it over. Cut a small circle and a large circle. You will have 4 ‘snout’ holes. Tape them to the watermelons!
Cucumber Snouts
These are SUPER easy. All you need are sliced cucumbers and a straw!
Simply cut the cucumber and then use the straw to pop out the holes for the snout.
Line them up and serve!
Eggs Nest
This was just a super cute idea I ran across a while back. Laying Deviled Eggs on a bed of shredded carrots to create an Eggs Nest is just too cute not to include for an Angry Birds Party!
Wash and peel your carrots. Cut the ends off and then take your peeler and continue to strip the carrots into thin strips.
Pile the carrots onto a plate, creating the nest and set aside!
Meanwhile, boil your eggs and let cool. Peel them and slice them in half. Place the yolks in a bowl and add about 2 tablespoons of mustard and 3 tablespoons of mustard. You can adjust this based on the number of eggs and whether you like mustard flavored deviled eggs or more mayonnaise ones. Add salt and pepper and mix well.
Put the mixture in a pastry bag or a baggie and cut the end. Pipe the filling into the egg. Top with a sprinkle of Paprika and lay on the nest. This was a HUGE hit at the party too!
Bird Poop
Don’t laugh but this is just too fun for an Angry Birds party! Just pour colored candies in a bowl and serve! How fun!
Piggy Punch
We have to let guests have some refreshments with their Angry Birds treats so this Piggy Punch is perfect!
All you need is a container of lime sherbet and lemon lime drink mix! Make the mix according to package instructions and set aside. Add the container of sherbet to a bowl and then pour the punch over it. Cut out more green snouts for the bowl and you are set to serve!
Angry Birds Table
I kept setting up the table pretty simple. I used red and black tablecloths to lay over the table. Once they were in place, I created a page of labels for the foods!
I cut those out and simply taped them to the table cloth wherever the corresponding food was. It turned out so cute that I hated to break it down after the party!
Now that my table was set up, we were ready for movie night.

This phone will be mainly used when my kids go to their dads and when my oldest starts her new school, which is further away, this year. I am so glad I have it for many other reasons too. Pretty soon I’ll be able switch from my expensive plan to Walmart Family Mobile and take advantage of everything awesome the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS has to offer!
